What is Clickbait?

It means what you think it means: bait for clicks. It's a link which entices you to click on it.

The "bait" comes in many shapes and sizes, but it is usually intentionally misleading and/or crassly provocative. Clicking will inevitably cause disappointment.

Clickbait is usually created for money.

Never click on Clickbait unless you want the person that created it to receive money from your click.

<:nuggetnote:> Nugget thinks people that use Clickbait on Social Media are shady AsF and should get an actual job and stop preying on People. Walmart is hiring if you can pass a drug test.

<:nuggetnote:> Numbers below are solely based on the Social Media Provider's server response string containing "bit.ly" in the links. This is a masked URL to hide the actual destination you are clicking on and is pure Clickbait.

 Youtube Clickbait

YouTube Clickbait cannot be easily programatically detected because, well, they are binary compiled videos. You have to use your own common sense and good judgement using that Social Media platform. If the videos are posted from a known Clickbaiter on other Social Media platforms then it's a safe bet you are giving the poster money by viewing their YouTube videos.

As general information only, YouTube pays between $0.006 and $0.015 per page view. YouTube shares 55% of its ad revenue with video creators and books an average of $7.60 per 1,000 ad views. That means you get about $4.18 for every 1,000 views of ads shown on your videos. Source: myworkfromhomemoney.com

Not a lot of money, but if you are someone that has lost big MTV money for doing absolutely nothing with your life due to your huzbin beating (in front of at least two of your kids) and killing an 11lbs dog every penny counts.

Gotta pay for them Carona's Yall!
